Over the last few years women's cricket has continued to go from strength to strength. Whether it was the first professional contracts being introduced to the England Women's Cricket team in 2014, the introduction of the Kia Super League (KSL) in 2016 or the England Women's team winning the World Cup in 2017. These are just a few of the many recent successes which have all contributed to the dynamic rise of the women's game.
We love how far the professional game has come but our main aim is to encourage and develop the current opportunities available in Oxfordshire and see the grassroots/club games flourish around the County. We have already seen a growing number of clubs in Oxfordshire running female sections which is really encouraging. A whole range of cricket is available, from the purely social to the seriously competitive and everything in between. We run our own Oxfordshire Cricket Women's Competitions and also have a number of clubs competing in the Home Counties Women's Cricket League playing competitive hardball cricket over the summer months.
We aren't just focusing on playing. If you love the game but playing isn't for you, we also provide opportunities for women to become cricket officials - whether that's coaching, umpiring or scoring! If you would like to become qualified in any of these areas, please get in touch and we can support you through the process.
