A committee formed initially in 2006 with only 4/5 key pioneers and has grown in size and strength since. This increase can be put down to the introduction of more clubs offering women and/or girls cricket.
Representatives from clubs women and girls sections are invited to attend our Women and Girls Forums, all of whom are involved in some way with running or coaching of the women and/or girls sections at their clubs. They are all extremely passionate and have a common interest to support and develop the female game as best they can. Without these volunteers, the female game across Oxfordshire would not have been able to grow and develop as much as it has over the years.
The group meet 2 to 3 times a year to discuss and formulate strategies for the continued development of the female game at club level, feeding into the county set up.
The information for the next forum is:
- Date: Tuesday 7th May 2019
- Time: 7:30pm
- Venue: Bicester & North Oxford CC
If you are part of a club that does not currently have a women and/or girls section, but you are interested in setting one up, these forums are a great place to start to get an idea of what is involved.
If you plan on attending the above forum, could you please email Laura Crofts lcrofts@oxoncb.com and she can update you with all the relevant information.
