The Oxfordshire and Sussex Cricket Academy and Emerging Players Development Programme intake for the 2019 season has been announced with the initial Induction and Strength and Conditioning session taking place on Thursday 8th of November at Magdalen College School.
The Emerging Players Programme (EPP) has a revised structure for 2018-2019 which will see Oxfordshire increase it’s talent pool of players to twenty four cricketers aged between Under 12 and Under 18 under the umbrella of the EPP. Twelve players aged between Under 13 and Under 18 have been selected onto the Oxfordshire and Sussex Cricket Academy and a further twelve new players aged between Under 12 and Under 15 selected onto the Emerging Players Development programme.
The mission of our Emerging Players Programme is to produce an oversupply of players for the Oxfordshire senior teams who can progress into First Class Cricket and beyond. The hope is that the newly formed structure will provide a platform for the Oxfordshire and Sussex Academy players to progress into professional cricket with Sussex and to inspire the younger players on the Emerging Players Development programme to one day follow in their footsteps.
We strive to create an environment that can maximise the potential by focusing on long-term development, whilst at the same time providing an enjoyable, challenging and supportive experience during the programme. This is achieved through a programme that focuses on the holistic development of players by integrating technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social development within group and individualised sessions through the winter and a range of opposition and match formats through the summer playing programme.

Oxfordshire Cricket are extremely fortunate to have a strong partnership with Sussex Cricket and Magdalen College School that enables us to deliver the programme inside fantastic facilities and to provide a pathway for our young players into professional cricket. The programme this year also has some exciting innovation as we have worked hard to establish a newly formed partnership with Brookes University and Pitchvision.
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the players on their selection within the Emerging Players programme for 2018-2019, and hope that they themselves take full advantage of this fantastic opportunity that many of our young cricketers in Oxfordshire aspire to have.
We are excited about working with the group of players over the coming months, and look forward to seeing how they develop."
