Context
Women and Girls Cricket is a fast growing sport nationally. Oxfordshire Cricket aims to drive new and develop current opportunities for women and girls of all ages and abilities to participate in cricket.
Oxfordshire cricket will support and develop existing clubs and promote the accessibility of joining a cricket club, and do so wherever possible to engage a wider audience. We must work closely with clubs to increase the number of younger girls playing cricket, by making the offer as attractive as possible to aid successful migration and participation. Developing girls’ only sections as cricket clubs will be a key focus area, which we can only increase if we work harmoniously.
It is paramount that we aim to protect and promote Women and Girls in cricket by offering chances to upskill players as coaches to act as role models to inspire more girls to play at grassroots level. Offering opportunities to coach within our schools programme and player pathway are integral to ensuring this outcome.
Vision: The Oxfordshire Cricket landscape will include accessible opportunity for all minority groups in environments and organisations that acknowledge the importance of inclusivity.
